Hz. Ali showed great heroism in the Battle of Uhud. While trying to protect the Prophet Muhammad, his sword broke. Witnessing this, the Prophet gave him his own sword, Zulfiqar. With its sharpness, it split other swords in two and became legendary in battles. From then on, Hz. Ali was in battles with the Zulfiqar sword... After the passing of Hz. Ali, it is believed the sword was taken to heaven. Another account suggests it lies between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. It is said that the person who will command the Islamic armies will be the owner of that sword and become the supreme commander.
